  1. Hartwell Dam & Lake
Lake Hartwell is one of the southeasts largest and most popular recreation lakes.  At 56,000 acres, it offers a variety of outdoor recreation opportunities.  Enjoy swimming, camping, fishing, or boating.  The Hartwell Dam & Lake Visitor Center is a great stop for anyone needing more information about it.  Take a walk on a paved (handicap accessible) walking trail that goes along the edge of Hartwell Lake and leads to the top of Hartwell Dam, where you have a scenic view of the lake, dam and the Savannah River.  

  1. Cateechee Golf Club
Cateechee Golf Club offers members and guests a serene escape from the hectic pace of everyday life on a course that spans 380 acres of rustic tranquility.  The semi-private golf course is open for play seven days a week.  After a round of golf, enjoy a lunch or dinner at their Waterfall Grille.  It’s seasonal menu offers fresh bold flavors to satisfy even the most discerning tastes.  Also, spend the night or the weekend in one of the VIP rooms overlooking the course.

  1. Hart State Park
This outdoor recreation area boasts 147 acres with 61 self registration campsites that are open seasonally, 16 walk-in self registration campsites, a boat ramp, picnic shelters & restrooms.  Most of the campsites are located on the scenic lake shore and feature water & electrical hook-ups.  Hot showers and a pumping station are nearby.  Visitors can also enjoy hiking/biking trails and a children's playground.

  1. The Hart County Botanical Garden
The garden provides not only a place of natural beauty for the enjoyment of visitors but also educational opportunities as an outdoor classroom.  There is an annual plant sale held each year which include plants from local nurseries as well as some member grown plants.  There is also an amphitheater & paved pavilion available for rental for weddings or other social gatherings.

  1. Historic Downtown Walking Tour
This is a self-guided walking tour of historic downtown Hartwell, Georgia. The tour covers a little more than a mile and includes 32 homes, businesses, churches, and landmarks in our historic downtown.
